ROSWELL READS 2008 PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST


THEME: "CAUGHT READING"

Roswell Reads 2008, the City of Roswell, and the Roswell Photographic Society are co-sponsoring a juried photography contest as part of the Roswell Reads 2008 community-wide reading event. Additional sponsors include the Roswell Junior Woman's Club and Blick Art Materials. The judges are Stan Clay, Gittel Price, and Audrey Goolrick. The deadline to enter is 12 o'clock noon, Wednesday, March 12, 2008.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Three levels: Child, Teen, Adult. 
  • Entries should represent the theme "Caught Reading".
  • Open to photographers of all ages and levels of experience.
  • Judging criteria will include quality of work and cohesiveness of the show.
  • Entries must be original and entirely the work of the entrant.
  • Entries must not be copies or derivatives of published works, although they may have been shown previously.


    HOW TO ENTER

  • No entry fee is required.
  • Up to four entries per person, 8 x 10 proofs, in a standard 9 x 12 envelope.
  • Applications and photographs may be hand-delivered to Roswell Regional Library, 115 Norcross Street.
  • Deadline to enter is 12 o'clock noon, Wednesday, March 12, 2008.
  • Label the back of each photograph with:
    • Title
    • Arrow indicating the top of the photo
    • Category (Adult, Teen, Child)
  • DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE PHOTO. Your name goes only on the outside of the 9 x 12 envelope.
  • Complete and sign the entry form. Please make a copy for your records.
  • Consideration for acceptance is not guaranteed for entries that do not include all required criteria.


    WINNING PHOTOS

    Winning and selected photos will be exhibited at the library from March 16, 2008 - March 29, 2008.


    RECEPTION

    A reception will be held Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Roswell Library for participants, family and friends. This event is sponsored by the Roswell Junior Woman's Club.


    RESPONSIBILITY

    Every reasonable precaution will be taken to assure protection of all artwork, but the sponsors of this contest assume no responsibility for loss or damage of any kind.


    NOTIFICATION AND RETURN

    All work must be picked up at the Roswell Library between April 1 and April 18, 2008. Retrieve your work from the box of envelopes (in alphabetical order). AWARDS Prizes will be awarded for each level (Child, Teen, Adult), courtesy of Blick Art Materials in Roswell, GA.
