The Friends' Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 18th from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
We will elect new directors, introduce new officers for 2008/2009, recognize our volunteers, and report on the year's accomplishments.
National Library Week is April 13th - 19th.
This year's theme is "Join the Circle of Knowledge @ Your Library". The March 29th Literary Luncheon with author Kim Edwards (The Memory Keeper's Daughter) was a great success!
Almost 200 people attended the final event held at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center on Grimes Bridge Road. The author spoke eloquently about the writing process and read moving excerpts from her poignant novel.
Many thanks to the Roswell Reads Steering Committee, the Friends of the Roswell Library, our generous sponsors, and all of the
volunteers who helped make this year's program the best one ever! The Cultural Arts Board for the City of Roswell awarded a CABY Award to the
Roswell Reads Committee at the third annual CABY Awards at City Hall. The Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities (through appropriation
from the Georgia General Assembly) have awarded a grant to the Roswell Reads 2008 program.
The generosity and support of these organizations is greatly appreciated.
The Southern Arts Federation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Georgia Council for the Arts

The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation has awarded a grant
to the Roswell Reads 2008 program. The generosity and support of the Foundation is greatly appreciated. The Friends of the Roswell Library's Spring Book Sale will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The Preview Party for Members (new members welcome at the door) is Friday, May 30, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Fulton County has installed new bulletin boards purchased by the Friends. These are
now hanging in the lobby and provide secure display areas for both the library and the Friends. The Friends of the Roswell Library mourn the loss of a dear Friend, Don Tefft
(1916 - 2008). He will be greatly missed.

will speak and sign books.
