The Roswell Regional Library offers a variety of exciting programs for all ages. Many of these programs are co-sponsored by the Friends! Reservations are usually required for the programs, unless otherwise noted. Please call the library at (770) 640-3075 for more information.

Selling And Buying On Ebay

Join Ebay business owner, Alec Knudson, to learn some tricks of the trade. Reservations are recommended.
Swing And Latin Dancing Workshop
Saturday, July 26. 12:00 p.m.
Join dance instructor Sean-Christopher De Guzman to learn some fun dances. Reservations are required. Limited to 20 participants.

First Aid and Safety Training
Saturday, August 9. 10:00 a.m.
An American Red Cross certified instructor will teach first aid with infant and child CPR. Adults and seniors. Reservations are required. Limited to 12 participants. Lunch not provided.
Gardens in Italy
Saturday, August 16. 10:30 a.m.
Linda Jenkins of Vacations-Abroad.com will present a slideshow and lecture of her tour of gardens in Italy. Reservation recommended.

Your Photos Online: Third Tuesday Computer Classes

Learn how to upload photos from your camera and display them online. Please bring a digital camera with photos saved and the camera's USB cable. Registration is required and begins August 19.

How to Sign Up:
Sign up at the Roswell Library and pick up your tally sheet beginning
June 1, 2008!
How it Works:
Every time you read a single book, cross off ONE of the Beetle Books on your tally sheet.
Each tally sheet contains 8 Beetle Books. OR cross off ONE Beetle Book on your tally sheet for every TWO programs you attend at the Roswell Library.
For every tally sheet you turn in at the Roswell Library, your name will be entered in the grand prize drawing to win an iPod Shuffle that holds up to 500 songs!
Also, every time you turn in a tally sheet, you will receive a coupon for a FREE Chick-Fil-A sandwich.
You may fill out and complete AS MANY tally sheets as you wish.
To be entered in the drawing for the iPod Shuffle, you MUST turn in your tally sheets at the Roswell Library.

Threads of Life: Change How You Learn
Thursday, July 10. 2:00 p.m.
In this program, participants will explore a variety of textiles produced in the Andes and make their own quipus to record information about their own families. Ages 8-13. Registration is required.
College Prep Workshops: Change Your Life
Mondays, July 14 & 21. 5:00 p.m.
The Education Path presents these two very informative workshops on preparing for college. Topics covered will include various type of financial aid, private scholarships, FASFA, AP classes and more! Ages 16-18. Registration is required.
North Fulton Drama Club Presents: Change How You Act
Thursdays, July 17 & 24. 2:00 p.m.
The North Fulton Drama Club, a local community theatre company, presents two fun and engaging drama workshops. Nurture your budding acting ability or learn how to write and direct a skit. Ages 12-18. Registration is suggested.
Chocolate Mice & Cookie Bouquets: Change How You See Food
Thursday, July 31. 2:30 p.m.
Sari McIntyre returns to create beautiful cookie bouquets. Compliment your bouquet with some chocolate mice and take home a beautiful and tasty treasure! Ages 12-18. Registration is encouraged.

ART CLASSES
Out of the Box Art Studio - Art Classes for Kids!
Pigcasso Meets Mootise Pastel
Thursday, July 17. 10:00 p.m.
A hands on study of Picasso and Matisse! Come learn how these two artists sometimes got along and sometimes didn't, but they both loved to be original. Children will create their own Picassos with oil pastels.
Ages 5-12. Reservations are required and will begin on Friday, July 11.

Watercolor Butterfly
Thursday, July 31. 10:00 a.m.
Come help us create a beautiful watercolor butterfly and learn the properties of wonderful watercolors.

BOOK CLUBS
Snack Attack Book Discussion for 4th, 5th, and 6th Graders
Monday, June 30. 6:30 p.m.
Students will read and discuss The Alchemyst by Michael Scott.
Pizza and a beverage will be served.
This program is open to rising 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th graders.

STORYTIME
Monday Madness
Storytime for Babies, 1's, 2's and a Caregiver
Mondays July 7, 14, 21, and 28. 10:00 a.m.
Enjoy unstructured play time, followed by a story time with songs, rhymes, books
and marching! No reservations necessary.
First come, first admitted up to 50 children.
SPECIAL PERFORMANCES for ages 3 - 5
Tom Cornwell, Bug Songs
Wednesday, July 9. 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Have a buggy, singing good time with children's musician Tom Cornwell.

Monday, July 7. 1:00 p.m.
Learn about exotic reptiles from the best reptile wrangler in the southeast!
Live animals will be present. This program is for children that have completed
Kindergarten and older. Reservations are required and begin Tuesday, July 1.
Tommy Johns, Go Wild and Catch the Reading Bug
Monday, July 14. 1:00 p.m.
This amazing show about Georgia animals, plants and BUGS features music, puppets,
magic and audience participation and encourages kids to explore their own backyards
as well as the shelves of the library for all kinds of interesting and fun facts and
experiments. This program is for children that have completed Kindergarten and older.
Reservations are required and begin Tuesday, July 8.
Michael Boone, A Magic Show

A fun and lively magic show! This program is for children that have
completed Kindergarten and older. Reservations are required and begin

Bug Man Billy - A Wild and Feisty Bug Show

CHILDREN'S SUMMER READING 2008 @ THE ROSWELL LIBRARY:
CATCH THE READING BUG!
The Summer Reading Program for Children begins May 24th and ends July 31.
Reading Incentives for Ages 0 - 12 years
1. Beginning May 24, visit your local library and pick up an official
Catch the Reading Bug reading log to keep track of your book titles read/read to you
OR the hours you spend reading.
2. After you either read 10 books/have 10 books read to you OR you
spend 10 hours reading, bring your reading log back to the library to claim your prize:
a FREE paperback book (courtesy of the Friends of the Roswell Library).
3. Your name will be entered into a drawing for a giant Chick-fil-A Cow.
4. You will be given a colorful paper cut-out to write your name on and tape
to our window in the Children's Department and a FREE coupon to Chick-fil-A on
Alpharetta Highway in Roswell.
5. If you want to keep reading, each time you read an additional 10 books
OR spend an additional 10 hours reading, bring your reading log back
to the library and we will give you a colorful star to put on your cut-out that is
on the window.
6. No more prizes are awarded after the paperback book.
7. The last day to bring back a reading log is Saturday, August 2, 2008.
